Shelter Spotlights began as a simple idea on Instagram: point a camera at the dogs the world was overlooking, and tell their stories until someone fell in love.
Shelter dogs don't always get a fair first impression. Behind a kennel door, the most loyal, loving companion can look shy, scared, or invisible. We started photographing and profiling local shelter dogs to change that — to show who they really are.
